AdBlue's key ingredient, urea, is also used to make fertilizer for agriculture. China was a primary supplier of urea, but since the cost of fertilizer in China has internally gone up dramatically, and a large portion of that is urea, they stopped exporting it.
The U.S. has to come up with a new supply of urea to make AdBlue before it becomes a crisis. A large portion of diesels rely on AdBlue to operate. It's not just trucks, but also tractors and other agriculture equipment and diesel power generators.
I think I have a solution. We have 100,000 illegal immigrants sneaking across the U.S. Southern border each month. If we can get every immigrant to bring just 5 gallons of pee with them and drop it off at customs... we would have enough urea to make AdBlue and not rely on China. Sound like a plan?
