So, to us, it looks like all the planets aligned. Mind you it is a relative alignment.
A belief is that the alignment of the planets is somehow connected to a huge shift in energy, taking us from a place of war to a quieter place of peace and harmony. The evils plaguing the human race would finally take a back seat to love, acceptance, and cooperation.
BTW, I disagree with the idea that it represents the end of the world as we know it, because the Bible mentions "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes.". So not planets aligning then.
