People start to understand when I put it this way:
The SCOTUS decision was NOT about abortion. It was about a much more important issue. It was about a MUCH higher principle.
It was about RULE OF LAW.
If you live in a society without Rule of Law, then you have NO rights at all. You have no right to abortion, no right to self-defense, no right to free speech, no right to religion, no right to even think your own thoughts.
If they could create a microchip that could be implanted into your brain, and everytime you had a thought that the dictator or oligarchs did not like, they could punish you in some way, then you would not even have the right to think your own thoughts.
And you would have no right to refuse the implanting of that chip. You would be pushished or even killed if you tried to refuse, because there is no Rule of Law in a dictatorship.
So, Rule of Law is the MOST IMPORTANT issue for ANY society.
I will NOT discuss abortion or any other topic until AFTER they agree with me that Rule of Law is #1.
Once we agree on that, then I talk about how the Constitution is the Rule of Law in America. "This Constitution shall be the supreme law of the land." That's what it says.
They MUST agree with this, as well, because if they refuse then I call them out as being dishonest (or ignorant of American Rule of Law, depending on the person).
Once they get THAT ... THEN they can see that this SCOTUS ruling was about getting back to Rule of Law, whereas Roe v. Wade was a violation of Rule of Law.
Most people can rap their mind around that concept. They might not want to agree with it if it is a new concept to them, but you can see the wheels turning in their head.
Those who are already like-minded embrace it with excitement, because maybe for the first time in their life (especially if they are younger), they have some sort of understanding of why America is 50 states, united, and not 1 single big government like most other countries.
Rule of Law.
Constitution.
THEN, specific topics, such as abortion, right of self-defense, right of gun ownership, right of free speech, right of religion, right of due process, etc.
This is WHY the founders set it up this way.
There needs to be a moratorium on new laws until the existing ones are enforced for EVERYONE. Especially those in government.
Starting with money fraud, check cashing and insider trading. Hit them in the wallets. They think their $175,000 a year stipend isn’t enough, instill term limits so they aren’t such a burden to the American people.
This. It's repugnant. Every one of those bastards has stock in jab companies.
