I mean no offense, but I agree with a guy whose done it for almost a decade over 1 instance. I’m no professional medical person, so I have to go with the most educated folks I can find.
The friend I know found out she would not be having a healthy child at her first ultrasound with her husband, so less than 24 weeks. I don’t think she opted for a grotesque, cruel end to things, but the billing term for delivering a stillborn child was apparently an elective abortion.
It kinda sounds like she had more of a DNC. It’s more of a suction process. Vacuum like procedure. I’m not to familiar with the details but it’s not really what people consider an abortion. Usually an ectopic means in the wrong place kinda deal. Outside of the uterus. So the procedure would be more the vacuum one. I forgot the name. So really she shouldn’t say she had an abortion, really. Well IMO.
I now of woman who’ve had vagina delivery of deceased baby around the 25 week area. Know one who had its insides on the outsides. They wanted to proceed with an abortion procedure to terminate the pregnancy, and she said absolutely no. She continued with her pregnancy till she basically lost it per X-rays and such. And then elected for a vaginal birth. She then buried her child.
In your friends case she unfortunately would not have this option because the child was basically outside of the womb. I’m sorry for her loss.
So sorry for that woman’s loss. I can’t imagine going through either scenario. I almost feel going through delivery would provide more closure for the mother, but as I’ve never been in those shoes, I wouldn’t know.

I think we are likely on the same page, honestly.
