How Inflation is Altering People's Behavior

Last night, my wife, who is asleep, was lamenting at how expensive a sandwich was at a local deli. For a long time she maintained that high gas prices were good because that would mean she'd get a big bonus as she works for an energy company. I was like well it won't matter if you get a bonus because everything will be more expensive. Anyway, bit by bit I guess.
A few of the things I've noticed.
When I go to put gas, most times the previous person stops putting gas at a set number. Like they stop at say $30 or $40.
Not many are just filling up anymore.
The other big thing is most people are driving slower now. Before, the entire freeway would be doing 80mph, now most are driving closer to 65 - 70mph.
The thing I find most frustrating about all of this is that so many people still have their heads stuck in the sand. They compare this year to last year when they should be comparing Biden to Trump. For example from the article: "At the same time, the average driver was paying nearly $275 a month at the pump, up from $167 in June 2021, when a gallon of gas was $3.07, according to Kelley Blue Book’s calculations." I don't know what Kelley Blue Book has for June 2020 gas prices, but according to our government, June 2020 was $2.17 a gallon vs June 2021 $3.15 a gallon. They don't have June 2022 listed yet as the month isn't over yet, but the May numbers are $1.96 for 2020, $3.07 for 2021, and $4.54 for 2022.
Next time somebody tries to blame Putin, remind them that gas prices went up by over a dollar under Biden well before Putin invaded.
Sidenote: any leftist complaining about the economy gets zero sympathy from me. You voted for the Pedo-potato...
