We actually have both still. When mine is up for renewal I will renew. I like being able to bring my gun with me when I travel to/through other states with reciprocity. Constitutional Carry is nice, but keeping the permit has a bunch of advantages.
Did you have a permit back when they still had 2 different types (semi and/or revolver)? If you "qualified" on the range with a semi-automatic you could carry either, but if you used a revolver you couldn't carry a semi. Always thought that was odd.

As a California landowner but non-resident, at this point I am ineligible for a ccw. In light of the recent ruling that the 2nd amendment rights extend to carrying outside the home, I plan to sue them for not allowing me a ccw in violation of my 2nd amendment rights. My rights don’t stop at state borders. Nationwide carry, here we come.
