When more people than average die in a particular way - "unrelated to the vax." What is causing it? Are people just more apt to die from drowning or motorcycle accidents because more people are doing those activities? Maybe... If it was just one or two activities. But increased all-cause-mortality points to a common denominator.

The trouble for the party of pscience is that it's hard to assert that it isn't the vax if they don't have proof of what it actually is.
If they don't have proof they would at least have to concede it could be the vax.
