If one closely watches the above video, one can easily note that the same script was read on CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX networks. Disney didn't get the Fox Television Stations because they own ABC and it's not allowed per anti-trust laws. Same reason Comcast/NBC could not purchase them, even if they rebranded to NBC.
On December 14, 2017, after rumors of such a sale, The Walt Disney Company announced that it would purchase FTS's parent company, 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion, plus the assumption of $13.7 billion in debt by Fox, subject to government approval. FTS, along with several other assets was spun off into Fox Corporation, a company owned by the Murdoch family. The deal was completed on March 20, 2019.
That fits with the article, written 2018 after Fox was acquired, but before it was spun off in 2019 (as I'm reading this). And the Murdoch family (especially junior who took control and is a rabid leftist) is NOT conservative by any means.

I haven't delved into the actual acquisition, but it seems (from the quote I cited from the vigilant citizen article) that 21st Century Fox was acquired by WD after/while spinning off Fox TV News (aka Fox Television Stations/FTS, which Murdoch snapped up) - as you clarify in your discussion on the sale. So Walt Disney got the movie-making Fox entity while Murdoch got the fake news Fox entity.
