As does waiting. Death by a thousand cuts and all those tired sayings.

How many died of vax complications who would have otherwise survived had someone decided to start telling the truth? How many Businesses went under that wouldn’t have otherwise? How many lives have been lost thus far in Ukraine? Or to the Depression brought by years of mental manipulation and the lockdowns. What about the gangs and cartels who further entrench themselves with new blood as they pour over the border? Or the children irreversibly scarred both mentally and physically by the Trans crap or lockdowns?

It’s a game of attrition. Some suit insulated from the consequences of their decisions somewhere ran the numbers and decided on an acceptable level of collateral damage. Sucks if you happen to be in the percentage of acceptable collateral damage. But I’m sure they’ll have a monument or something and maybe a few appropriately sad noises perhaps even a new holiday.

If I had to guess. The decisions and slow walking are motivated less by preserving lives. Despite what we’re told.

And instead are about preserving something to rebuild with. Sudden Upheavals are rather atrocious and disruptive for preserving an economy of scale or at least the infrastructure necessary to maintain an economy of scale.

Costs more long term to replace the infrastructure that would be destroyed or damaged in the upheaval then it will to replace the people.

Got maybe 18 years to produce a new body to fill a job and buy a house. Maybe less depending on how much you want to stretch legal definitions. Got at minimum a couple decades of constant work and wheeling and dealing to revive the economy in an area devastated by unrest or war.
