Oh man, I thought it was from an abortion (Still basically just as bad), rather than a post birth organ harvesting.

In order to successfully harvest the cells/kidneys, the baby had to be 100% alive and all systems working (heart pumping, etc). It was generally known to be from an abortion, but only people who knew about the 'hows' with the procedure knew the extreme brutality of it.
