My 16 yo son has a court date Aug 2nd at 1. Another kid got in trouble for riding his dirt bike on a baseball diamond and he's saying that my son was there. My son wasn't there. They only have the kids statement. The only dirt bike my son has is not running and the cops saw that and they took pictures of it. And they're still trying to charge him with no evidence let me remind you. They called me the courts wanted me to bring him in and have him admit to what he did so they could give him community service and have him put on the lowest possible probation there is. And I said do you have any evidence that was my son? Do you have any pictures any videos? She said no all they had was a deputy statement. So I told her I have no problem bringing him in if you can prove to me that my son did it I'll gladly bring him in have him sign up for this program he'll do his community service whatever but if you don't have any evidence I'm not going to bring him into admit to something he didn't do that's entrapment and then they wanted to put it on put them on probation before even seeing a judge no I know my son's rights. So I have an appointment with a really good attorney on Wednesday at 1:00 it's a phone consultation. I have to add to his dad my ex-husband said he's not going to let this go he's not going to let him railroad our son like this so I'm thankful that we have a good relationship he's going to help me pay for the attorney and he's not happy it's like I'm not happy

From one patriot to another, I will pray for your situation. But I would also like to play "devil's advocate" based on raising my own two...they are both successful adults now but they weren't without their transgressions during the teen years...and neither of them were beneath lying if they knew trouble was on the horizon.
You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that your son WAS there unless YOU personally are his alibi. Meaning you know for a fact that he couldn't have been there because he was with you. The fact that his dirt bike wasn't running does not mean he wasn't there at the time of the vandalism. Sit him down and have a heart to heart with your son. Check his phone. Ask questions. Do your own investigating. Don't just take his word for it. Follow up and check into his story. I tell you this based on personal experience. My kid said he wasn't at a party that got busted by the cops. Long story, but at the end of the day...he was there.
All for backing your kid. Just make sure you have all the facts before you go to court. I'm sure your lawyer will tell you the same thing. Good luck and God bless, fren.
