That is simply false. Sorry to tell you but that explanation he gave you was intentionally misleading. Keep reading the Talmud and find out the truth. A Jew is allowed to bypass Gods commandments if he uses a non Jew to commit evil acts. This is the shabbos goy. The fall guy. Also they are allowed to lie to you, a gentile, so that the secrets wouldn’t be revealed and they hang by their necks if the gentiles found out the truth.
