The 6-foot-9 center for the Phoenix Mercury was arrested at a Moscow airport on Feb. 17 — one week before Russia invaded Ukraine — on suspicion of drug smuggling for allegedly carrying two cannabis oil vape cartridges in her luggage.

I wonder what the real reason was. I am assuming he/she was a spy

This thought had crossed my mind too which would make sense at why media could spin on a small possession charge to get people worked up around Russia more while empathizing with her.

Obviously speculation but the story just feels fishy though.
