Actually, the gasoline refineries are lucky to make 25-cents per gallon of gasoline. Since oil is over $100 per barrel, after labor, energy and overhead costs, that's only about a 15% profit margin.

Gas stations also don't make much of a profit on the gasoline. Just a rough guess, but I'd be surprised if they make over 20-cents per gallon in profit. I guess gas stations could cut back to zero profit to appease Biden.

The single biggest thing Biden can do is to re-open the off-shore drilling, put the EPA on a leash, start approving refinery and chemical plant expansions...and green light the Keystone Pipeline. If we can get oil prices back below $60 per barrel, consumers could afford gasoline again.
