It seems that some people posting and commenting here think EVERYTHING is a conspiracy theory! As Freud once tried to say, sometimes things are just as they seem, and there is no deeper story involved. Although we don't know everything, just because we don't know something doesn't mean it takes a ridiculous conspiracy theory to explain it.

I'm not discounting that there are MANY evil conspiracies going on, I'm just trying to say that at some point, ridiculousness needs to lose to obviousness.
who decided what that point is?
Well, I am guessing PhDinNY is deciding.🤷♀️ Nothing wrong with throwing out theories. If it gains traction with upvotes, the board has spoken. I say we leave it up to each of us to make that decision. If I see something I'm not interested in, I pass it up and move on.
I know you weren't, and I understand your point. I confess I was trying to be funny while making mine, and I didn't mean for it to completely invalidate your concern. Please accept my apology if my tone or my argument had that effect.
Personally I don't worry too much about how we are perceived. Our validation cannot come from the lying media. They will never give us a break, even if every post was serious, well-researched, and accurately predictive. Our validation must come from ourselves, and the fact that the media has been forced to speak about us (even disparagingly) means that our influence has grown to the point where our validation is no longer an issue.
I don't worry too much about the silly stuff, either. Bad press from those things is still press. It might turn some people off, but it will make others curious.
No apology needed. Have a great day!
You, too.
