First playthrough for me was around age 14. I'll never forget the first time that AI Colonel called me and told me to turn the game console off. My mom was yelling at me to go to bed at the same time and I was convinced the game was possessed.
I never left it on that long but I remember just taking my time and trying out a bunch of different ways to do stuff. Did you put in your stats and get what type of mgs player you were? Mine was a spider. It was on the hidoekojima or Sony site at the time
When I found out I wasn't snake, I switched the console off and didn't play again until MGS3, I was really upset lol
At 11 years old I beat MGS1 without a freaking memory card it stayed on for days without glitching, what a system, what a game.... Those where some magical times
My personal favorite is MGS2, but they are all incredible in their own ways. My favorite game series, hands down.
Sons of liberty! I played that game so many times when I got it for Christmas so long ago. Man good memories!

I think that was after my time. It was around 2009 that I played the game for the first time. I remember my end of game rank being Scorpion though.
