This statement doesn’t make sense. Either a red herring or you don’t understand how DNA works. Every cell that has its DNA altered will continue replicating itself with the new changed DNA forever. That is as close to a rewriting as you can get.
Is this for certain? In the 'for the laymen' explanation (Igor substack) it wasn't sure that this happened - (here's a section from the article)
