What's so great about Hard Work? I don't like it myself.
During the 1800s Industrial Revolution the elites pushed the "protestant work ethic" at people because they needed slaves in the new factories. Prior to that most people lived as subsistence farmers and did not actually do that many hours work per week. Of course they did what was necessary for life and that was all.
100 years later - have we not yet made enough progress (robots and machines) to stop trying to convince people that they will go to heaven if they work themselves to death for their masters?
