Because you are using a WINDOWS system in need of all kinds of vaxx remediations. That is a side-effect. It bogs down your system, and wants to control your behavior in order to turn you into a good citizen of the globohomo State.
There is a simple remedy. Throw out windows and move to Linux. And if you must, you can use clamav, rootkit and other stuff to check the health of your system.
You have a firewall, and libreWolf for internet access + ublock origin, Invidition, private.sh, useragent spoof if needed.
For those hooked on office 365, there is Libre-office/ onlyoffice.
Masterpdf v.3 is part of my entourage. Calibre for my e-books, GIMP for Graphics, audacity for audio, dia for making maps, gscan2pdf, bluefish for coding (also geany). Apache and all the lovely database systems come along.
Ah yes .... of course: steamit, playonlinux for all your games. It is a puzzle sometimes. I have been wrestling with getting Civilization V running on my box, but it does!
Best sourced linux distro: Either go for Ubuntu, or arch-linux. Mint or MX are a good second choice as derivatives.
im basically linux retarded. i have no idea how to use it. i barely know how to really use windows. don't get me wrong, i can do the things i need to, but not ready, like most people to move to the next level of computing, linux.
Linux truly is better for a lot of reasons, but it is significantly more difficult. This is why most consumers use Windows and Apple, the amount of user friendliness drives it. Once you become accustomed to using Linux, I'm sure it is very easy to use. I'd like to (like the OP) learn to use it, in fact I have an extra PC with Linux on it, but I'm confused on how to use it. Im looking at TrueNAC or whatever it's called to turn this extra pc into a server. If anyone has info, please drop a link for a smooth brained trumplican, I'd be very grateful!
The modern Linux distro's look a lot like windows 7.
Menu within applications follows the same structure.
For all the usual stuff, no real knowledge of Linux is needed. Left click right click. Same thing.
Most of the applications are contained in aptitude, you might call that the app-store. Select install done.
Bluetooth works out of the box,
That said, try to learn one thing every week. Archlinux has the best source material topically. Askubuntu has the best question driven solutions ( they often link to arch)
And hooking up Android to Linux is faillrly easy.
And maybe, in time, you'll find that the command line no longer holds secrets.

Dump windows. That would be a great reset.
It is definitely smoother! You can always give it a try with a live-cd.iso. Just dump it on a stick and restart. And it does a good thing with civ-3.
And if you really want to do something nice: add persistence to your 32G-stick. Now you have your linuxbox to go, anywhere you go.
fav for civ: stay out of entangling alliances and war, and win.
