When you have time, dig on EVs. They are NOT what is being promised. Look for agencies who investigate auto claims.
It is another Rich Man's trick to remove money from the common people.
If you purchase one, it is too late.

Electric vehicles will win in the marketplace once they improve battery tech. But once you can charge/replace your battery in the time it takes to refill a gas tank, the ICE is dead.
I'm not saying this as an eco-freak or anything like that.
More like an old man with 17 gas engined vehicles and lawn implements. The internal combustion engine is a big fat kludgey mess of unreliable systems. Electric motors will win.
I.E., I'm an old man who can't stand it when my lawn mower won't start. I adore my plug-in hybrid and nothing is going to stop the EV. It is coming.
I think OP's point is that, probably like the smartphone, the device has benefits that are being sold to us while hiding what's really going on underneath. The EVs are not clean, they do not replace classic fuels, they just change the place the burning happens, and move power around less efficiently. But more importantly, they are not transportation devices, they are movement-control devices.
Yes, that too. Well said.
