I simply thought that to say it IS condescending is more accurate than saying it SOUNDS condescending. In that sense, I was paying you a compliment.

This stems from the number of times I've had to say to people 'No, it's not LIKE that. It IS that.'

So here we are: I didn't realize you were giving me credit and you didn't realize I was paying you a compliment. We make quite a pair. 😸
