I wonder if Hunter has filmed himself on purpose to get payback by taking down the Father that abused him as a child. Especially leaving it behind at the repair shop.
Hunter is NOT some secret white hat. Hunter is a crack head and a pedophile. I have been around crack heads and drug addicts. Leaving the laptop at the repair place even though it incriminates him and his family is completely on par with the actions of a crack head drug addict.
Whether or not the story is true is another question but the behavior exhibited by Hunter is completely within the realm of possibility considering his drug use.
