The sun moves at 15 degrees an hour above the plane. The sky is a perfect clock.
No offense but that's kind of a crappy video with no precise measurements. I couldn't see the boat before he zoomed in and was only able to see it after it was zoomed in a bit. It would be nice to have precise measurements so I could do the earth curve formula and figure out exactly how much of that boat should have been seen.
