Absolute nonsense. I do ballet and you don’t know shit. It does not put any ‘unnatural’ pressure on your bones whatsoever. These injuries don’t happen as a result of ballet. They happen as a result of not-ballet intended to be ballet. That is, ballet done incorrectly. Don’t blame ballet for that. The cause of injuries is limited to bad teachers and bad students.
Even elite ballet dancers who study with the best teachers and have incredible technique often suffer injuries. Foot, shin, ankle, and hip problems are common. It is unnatural to dance in pointe shoes or to have the turnout required by top ballet companies. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not an art form or that it shouldn't be done. Dance and athletics performed at elite levels often take a toll on the body.
Yes they suffer injuries when they fuck up. But it never implies that ballet is the cause of the injury. None of them are going to conclude "ballet sucks and it's an injury causing sport/art", which is the essence of the argument here.
