I drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee every day and I haven’t had a cup of coffee in a couple of days and my headache wasn’t going away so I had a cup of caffeinated tea and my headache is gone I was having caffeine withdrawal on top of the flu. I think people don’t realize that when they’re sick they stop drinking coffee and that gives them a pounding headache

The caffeine headache is a result of the blood vessels in your head trying to return to normal size when you stop drinking coffee. Caffeine shrinks the blood vessels in your head and around the second day of no coffee you’ll get the worst headache of your life because the blood vessels are putting pressure on you as they try to return back to normal. Caffeine is not good for you as it results in constricting blood vessels i.e. oxygen flow to the brain. That’s why the headache goes away when you finally have that cup of coffee. They’re shrinking again.
DUCK is correct. Caffeine affects every person differently. In some people it constricts the blood vessels, in others it dilates them. Some people can't sleep after having caffeine, others can sleep just fine with no problem. Some people experience increased blood pressure from caffeine, others do not. In some people, caffeine counters fatigue, in others it doesn't help at all.
Just like with salt, caffeine can have different individual effects on people, and can sometimes be good and sometimes bad. It entirely depends on the individual and their genetics. Making broad generalizations is not a good idea.
When I get migraines, acetaminophen alone won't touch them, aspirin alone won't touch them, and caffeine alone won't touch them, but all 3 of those together (Excedrin Migraine Formula) will almost always get rid of it within a couple of hours. It's worth a shot to see if it works for you, OP.
Opiates do absolutely nothing for my pain. They don't even take the edge off it.
Try applying clove oil directly to your tooth for short term relief from the pain. Be VERY careful not to swallow any though if you can help it, the taste might kill you.
That's exactly how I quit coffee. Major headache and excedrin got me over the hump.
Red wine is a source of quercetin (as well as some heart healthy antioxidants). Could be that your body is craving it for those benefits.
Once you get pass that second day it gets better though. As long as you don’t drink coffee.
