Love their channel. BTW he is not Amish. They just left the rat race and went off grid. All their videos are good. In one I found out you can eat all parts of the Rose of Sharon bush. His wife made a 12 egg frittata with chopped leaves, flowers and buds with some spices in an outdoor oven. I have 2 bushes so I am going to try it in my indoor oven.
I am also a huge fan!
I admit I am envious BUT they work VERY hard! I can't figure out how she's comfy with all her jewelry doing all that work. They really are pretty smart about everything. Nice couple with such purpose to life.
They dont but decided to use the phone due to their ever expanding business. They still dont use anything else just cells.
He’s not Amish, but they live near Amish and he finds the clothes comfortable for working. This is one of my favorite YouTube channels.... they have been 100% off grid for ~13y, and they did it cold turkey!!!
Maybe it's a flip phone. I think the level of technology depends on the group of Amish. Some technology may be used if it helps with productivity. Technology that causes distraction is a no go.
I don't believe the host is Amish. He may just be a Pennsylvanian German. Which are of the same ethnicity of Amish folk but follow different traditions.
Amish are anabaptist anyway. I think the word you were going for is Hutterite; they tend to work with new technology (cars, farm tractors, telephones, electricity, computers) but take care in using them.
Recently though, I don't think it's uncommon for Amish kids to have small dumb phones.
Sidenote: I'm the de-facto lead engineer for a national IT company that takes care of key infrastructure in our country and still use a dumb phone (the same one I used since 2010). As my mentor used to say: "One tool for one job".
He never said he was Amish. I made the same mistake at first. Can't tell a book by it's cover.
LOL or KEK, whichever you prefer. I thought he was Amish as well.
