Well actually, yes you can argue with that logic, from the bible itself. There are plenty of counter examples of unbelievers especially in roles of authority acting more righteously in a particular situation than self-interested believers. Just one example off the top of my head is Abraham and Sarai in Egypt.
This is called natural law and is in the realm of common grace. To deny that God has blessed all peoples with good gifts of rain, sun, harvest, and everyday WISDOM is to be against the biblical teaching. Christians are NOT necessary for a peaceful and well functioning society, this current culture war is just more false dichotomies meant to divide and push for some kind of civil war. This is exactly the kind of European "Christendom" bloodbaths the founding fathers intended to exclude this nation from.
