they should absolutely feel morally obligated but we don't want or need government forcing these things. that's how we got here ! if we had the government off our backs and were only taxed for proper programs (infrastructure, etc) than all would have more money to be charitable with and I truly believe that we the people would step up and help others in need. the problem currently is everything from our governments to "charities" are a scam and lack transparency

moreover, I would argue that kids born into a slight struggle tend to be better grounded beings. just look at this trust fund generation that largely live off of their mommy and daddy and/or the government teet
