The guy at the door should have asked the agent under what authority is he conducting a warrantless search?
Question number 2 should be “are you aware of the penalties for illegally acting under color of authority”
Then the person should ask for his supervisor’s phone number to check out if he says who he says he is, then call the supervisor and ask the same questions.”
The last thing the person should do is get A lawyer and file lawsuits against the individuals personally for “Illegally acting under color of authority, and violation of civil rights.”
You do realize that law enforcement can lawfully inquire, they simply cannot force you to comply without a warrant, right? Nothing says they can't ring your doorbell and ask you something. Its up to you if you want to respond, or tell them to go fuck themselves. I'm inclined to tell them to fuck right off, and then keep fucking right off to the nearest cliff. But this isn't unlawful for them. Better off to not make a multiple purchase of handguns or if your state has the rifle restriction, that too. Then they don't have forms to fuck with you about.
This is why you do not purchase multiple firearms at once from the same dealer...in every state if you buy more than 1 handgun at the same time, or more than 1 within 5 days of another handgun purchase, the ffl files a multiple purchases form and sends it off to the feds. Some border states I believe have this requirement for rifle sales.
So no, you don't have to talk to these guys. But they get a report, may be they decide to investigate. Don't give them a report.

Doug is awesome. Just found him a little while ago.
Me too.
Pretty good info.
I like this homesteader. I didn’t know he had started waking and shaking his viewers. Good he is not alone.
