I used to be a copy editor, so seeing the wrong homophone being used more often than the correct one, pains me as much as it pains you, but I suggest taking a deep breath and letting it go. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms," (Eph 6:12) and our battle is certainly not against all-too-common spelling mistakes. I try to politely correct when I can.
"Hey, you misspelled this word. Not a big deal, just pointing it out."
"hope springs eternal" though.
