Oh, I know. That is why the turn-around was so shocking. All those initial black congress people -- republican. A solid family structure. Fathers in the home. Church attendance. It was all right there. And then along came LBJ and so much of it went out the window. If it weren't so horrifying, it would be a fascinating study on how to successfully manipulate (and destroy) people. Thanks for the book recommendation.
The Federal government's jobs are outlined in the constitution. What is not specifically enumerated there is left up to the states. The problem is that so many people have virtually no knowledge of how our government is supposed to operate (they don't know the Constitution - and that's by design) so for decades now, one unconstitutional law or program after another has taken root and many don't even realize these things are unconstitutional. Just like with the recent R v W thing. So many people crying about how the SC took away their constitutional right. Of course, they didn't. All they did was correct what an earlier court did, unconstitutionally. When the government acts outside of the constraints on it delineated in the Constitution, it inevitably causes problems.
We were already conservative friends.
You need to read the book "Color, Communism and Common Sense". By a former black communist named Manning Johnson.

No problem.
I keep telling everyone. If an area is full of crime and poor people.
That's not because of the people there. That's because the government doing that on purpose.
Why pay taxes?
In my view. The government has 2 main jobs.
If those things are not in place.
That's because the government benefits by keeping the people poor and in need.

I meant the state and local governments. Not the federal government.
Security has to be an organized activity. Citizens expect the local government to get rid of crime.
Look... I think the local government has some role. That role is what I outlined above.
Law and Order is a government issue. I don't expect citizens to maintain security on their own.
The local government needs to be able to do the freaking basics. That's all I am asking them to do.
The rest of it.
They can stay out of the way.
And if you want real life events of what I am talking about.
The whole defund the police movement started in Minnesota.
Look what happened when they tried to do that? They did that on purpose. That was no mistake.
That’s what I am talking about.
