What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
My kitchen has 3 can things in vaulted ceiling, and 3 hanging things in a row over the sort of counter/peninsula thing (my application as a writer for Home and Garden is strangely apparently on hold).
I actually got pretty good results with experimenting with combination of aiming the cans and various color temps in all the things (since infuriatingly you either get too warm or too cool instead of Goldilocks). The blend actually works way better than expected given the DAPOs made no such attempt and it was sort of irritating lighting with the bulbs they had in.
Sounds like a struggle I would be in, too, if building. It may not be possible to do it perfectly, but you get bonus points for being diligent!
Lighting is easy. Just connect the black wire to black, the white wire to white, and the bare ground wire to the metal housing of the fixture. Of course this is standard 110 v. I use a 12/2 wire with ground. For a fixture, nail a round blue box onto the joist in the place you’d like the light and run the cable to it. For a can spot, just nail the can between the joists where you would like it. The metal arms extend to reach each side. Then just bring the wire into the top and connect with red wire nuts. Good luck. It ain’t hard!
