H.R.6552, the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022 just went up for vote in Congress on Tuesday. It passed with all Democrats and all but 20 Republicans voting yae. Among the 20 who voted nay were Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz.
This doesn't make sense to me. If the bill does what the name suggests then why would they vote against it? Why would every democrat vote for it? There has to be something hidden here I am missing.
Can you guys help me find it?
And also to ensure that those who see through it and hence vote against it are subsequently seen as 'mean and nasty' to the headline-skimming public.
