Thanks!! I never wear gloves when I'm out there. Truthfully, our plants have never done as well as they have this year, and they've grown so much that when I planted them, I didn't leave enough space between. Lesson learned for next year! We also got a lot of rain each evening for days in a row and they have split around the stems, as they got too much water and the insides apparently grew faster than the skin. We're growing a smaller variety next year and a couple big ones.
Google… Long arm gardening gloves. You can get a pair for under 15 bucks. I have some and I love them. I always wear gloves, and if I’m not wearing gloves, I’m wearing nitrile gloves. However if you were nitrile gloves frequently, I think they make you sweat more because your hands can’t sweat.
Thank you!!
Nice!! Everything in my garden ended up burning up. I could keep up with the heat we had here and lack of rain. After 2 1/2 months we finally got rain last night and this morning. Oklahoma has been crazy hot and windy this year. This fall Im trying again, but I have grow lights so going to set up a place in my garage to grow
I remember those Oklahoma summers very well! Miserable! We got married in spring of 2000 and it was already so warm that the icing on our cake started to melt, turning the cake into the tower of Pisa!
Lol yep thats Oklahoma. Last week we hit 112
Where I live now is not quite as hot, but boy is it humid. Nasty!
Sounds like you’re a bit of a green thumb. Wish I was ,I’m a hopeless gardener.
It's taken us a lot of trial and error gardens to get where we are this year. We had a decently rainy summer, so far, and the tree cut down that soaked up all the water before. We mixed up a good soil as well. Pulling grass and weeds sucks! Every day. ;)
I think some people have the knack for it ,others don’t ,I’m a don’t :] Only plant I can’t kill is an aloe vera. I admire anyone that has the patience to create a lovely garden :)
