It's an old expression, attributed to PT Barnum. "There's no such thing as bad publicity." Meaning that, for some situations, and especially for grifters like PG, as long as people are talking about him, he's happy bc he's in the "news." Getting attention. Taking up space. Being discussed.
Obviously this isn't true in every case or situation. It's just an old expression that came to mind when I noticed that PG is appearing more often in the "news" and in this board.
But here you are, 20+ years later, and you still remember that commercial. That's what I was getting at. No matter what, we're writing about Phil, good or bad, he's getting air time.
One thing I've noticed - people are posting about him more and more here. And, there's no such thing as negative publicity. Yanno?
Yah, there is. It's called exposure.
Because when you're a fake, then the negative publicity will increasingly expose you.
But if you are legit, it empowers you, and amplifies the signal of your legitimacy.
That was the point.
<wooosh>
sound of the point going directly over my head?
fraid so, fren 😊

I hear you, Trump certainly proved that, but, this faggot gets nothing but basement treatment around here.
Just For Feet put out this commercial in 1999. It aired exactly once, during the Super Bowl.
Business tanked so hard that they quickly went out of business.

Memories don't pay the bills, sonny
That's ma'am to you. You're missing the point. Have a good day.
