I recently discovered that watching a video by phone on Rumble has different features depending on your browser. For example, with Chrome, if I switch to a different window or even a different tab, Rumble stops playing altogether. But on Firefox, Rumble continues playing in the background, which is great if you get a text or email while watching a video. Duck-Duck-Go didn't allow background playing either.
This isn't meant to be a which-browser-is-better post, but merely a tip about using Rumble. I'm on android, fwiw. If anybody else has good tips, please add your comments.
Thank you. This is good to know. I was so frustrated that my phone would go to sleep watching things on rumble. I finally downloaded the app and never have that problem anymore. Good to know how different browsers function with rumble.
on the rumble app you can press the "car" icon in the bottom right corner and it will allow for playback while you're using other apps
bottom right corner of a video.
I'll try that. Thanks.
One of the reasons I typically use FF mobile. 👍
I've also installed NewPipe off of F-Droid as a YouTube alternative as it seems to allow "closed" playback. TBH I typically send all my FF YouTube tabs over to desktop (another reason I enjoy FF - the "send to" feature works great). I really installed NewPipe solely to replace the YouTube app (yuck!) as my default app in the rare instance I'm sent a text msg with YT links. Saves a bit of time and sticks it to the Man.
