Once again, very well said and 100% correct on every point.
I’ve only recently started to pull myself out of what I would call an “antagonistic agnosticism”, and am realizing that much of the same BS that exists within US politics, also exists within Christianity and the modern day church, which pushed me away.
Returning a focus to Jesus alone has been helpful, and your post has framed it very well in ways I hadn’t even thought through until now.
This ability to focus on foundational principles - not total agreement on what nuanced situational arguments are morally right or wrong, or minutiae around when it’s ok to spend tax payer money on weapons and troops deployed to other countries (because the answer, it turns out, is “whenever my team does it and not when your team does it”).
Instead, we need to re-focus on the framework of individual rights and freedom that built our Constitution in the first place. It happened 235+ years ago, and I hope this awakening we’re a part of will lead to it again.

Thanks again, fren!
