HA ! After 2020, why the f* shouldn't we have the sky event too ? Now you tell the ETs that the booze will be on them and that humans can survive 50% alcohol volumes just fine if the other 50 tastes good enough.
Brother, I've been so thoroughly shellshocked by the habbenings since 2020,I don't think anything else in this world except possibly the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ would ellicit even the slighest reaction in me aside from a "Yep, that's happenin' alright".
Possible Sky Event?
Betelgeuse is still pretty stable, not strongly variable. See the material by the good folks at AAVSO:

More knowledgable folks will point you to Eta Carinae instead, as an example of a star that is really unstable:

Any star is a point source of light. Any dimension to the image is caused by blurring and pixelation on earth. You can blow the image up to 10 feet, but you'll still have just a reddish blur containing no real information.
The guy is "guessing" that it will happen around 9:45 PM, or in about 15 minutes from now.
You'd have better luck going out to Yellowstone and watching for the super volcano to erupt.
No
I have been hearing that for decades, it could be any time between now and another 1,000 years.
It has been increasing in size though.
