FROM ONE ARTICLE:
WNBA star Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison after she was found guilty of drug possession and drug smuggling by a Russian judge on Thursday.
She was also fined 1 million rubles. [$16,300.00 USD]
Russian prosecutors asked the court to hand Griner a 9.5-year prison sentence. The defense then started its arguments. Griner faces up to 10 years in prison.
Griner offered an apology ahead of the sentencing.
"I want to apologize to my teammates, my club, my fans and the city of (Yekaterinburg) for my mistake that I made and the embarrassment that I brought on them," she said. "I want to also apologize to my parents, my siblings, the Phoenix Mercury organization back at home, the amazing women of the WNBA, and my amazing spouse back at home."
She added: "Hope in your ruling it does not end my life."
Not sure if he ever apologized for beating his first wife and abandoning his kids.
The kids were made through IVF. Brittney has no biological connection to them and was married to his ex for 1 month before separating and asking for an annulment (later divorce), but still has to pay $2,516 per month for child support.

Ah, so no biological connection means it's ok to skip out
It doesn't say he skipped out. It says he pays child support but not alimony. Have you read that he hasn't been paying the child support?
Look at the wedding picture with the first wife and he's in the cream suit - you tell me whats filling out those pants.
Eh...that suit and pants were designed for a man and cut loose across the front crotch to accommodate a male body. But I can't really see anything but excess fabric there in those photos of Brittney. She/he has very narrow hips and long thin legs, so the pants are not tight but loose.
I'm not seeing a bulge really... but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
I had not heard that trans people use the expression 'my dead name'. Huh.
Re Brittney's statement about the sentence potentially ending her life, she may mean that she may be targeted as an inmate or suffer some other attack due to any of a number of reasons - American, black, trans, etc.
Or, she may be worried she will fall into such a state of despair that she will take her own life.
