Being "trans" or "bi", lgbtwtfbbq, etc is the "trendy" thing now, to show how special and different you are.
But by being "trendily different™" you are essentially being the same as everyone else.
92% of these kids will outgrow this trend sooner or later, and look back on it like as either
A) silly choice, just like fashion trends (legwarmers? Lol), or
B) a bad decision that can affect your life (like chewing/dipping with the rest of the wrestling team to make weight (my bad)
Whether it haunts them or is something they'll laugh about depends on how strong of a base they have at home, and how strong of a personal sense of self worth they have.
