There is a reason you see attractive women with objectively unattractive men far more frequently than the reverse. Women can meet a man they don't find attractive then start to view them as attractive if he has the personality traits that are attractive to her. Of course looks matter, but just not as much to women. Confidence, a leader, charming, good job, etc are what can make a physically less attractive man become super attractive. Also other factors, like a woman will become more attracted to a man if she finds out other women find him attractive. But you're right there is also a problem for women not having enough high value men, but it is more to do with lack of masculinity.

Sort of like you said, men are too feminine and women are too masculine, and this is a recipe for a society that leads to where we are now. Also good point that obesity makes people less fertile.
