They may not think of it as devolution but they know there is a ghost in the machine.
My bet, they are looking for a way to ID the ghost.
That they have no control over. That is what they are afraid of.

Think Marc Elias and what he said. Its about framing Trump as having classified material so he cannot run again. Don't give them that much credit. They are evil. Not smart. And they know how to use the corrupt system they built to fuck you over. Nothing more. Nothing less.
