The Standard American Diet ("SAD") is rife with sugar, processed foods and wheat (and other) grains and is highly inflammatory to the body. Most of what I've read points to inflammation as a primary contributor to, if not the cause of, illness and affliction.
So, it would seem that going back to nature (whole, organic, non-GMO vegetables, fruits, fiber, fats, meats - all in moderation) and denying the sweet tooth would support better health and well-being.
