this is exactly what the FBI did after Boston Marathon Bombing. they went around to houses, hotel rooms, etc demanding people hand over mobile phones, cameras, etc, under the pretext of "looking for evidence" but what the FBI actually did was to delete everyones photographs.

the FBI destroyed evidence, and obstructed justice.

this is the reason that Boston FBI-SAC Richard Deslauriers was forced into early retirement, and i hope he feels shame when he reads this comment.

the reason the FBI has jurisdiction over kidnapping and human trafficking, is so that the FBI can run interference against local law enforcement. assume jurisdiction, and thus control, of every case.
