I'd agree with you if I were to take it too far, like thinking some honestly schizophrenic nonsense -- but then again, ask yourself where 666 came from? Just because a bunch of edgy teenagers hijacked it for their "totally rad metal music man" doesn't mean that those who take it very, very seriously aren't still out there. What do you think Hollywood is for? Those who push The Agenda are rewarded with power and fame. This is why evil people rise to the top, because their lust for fame and power is more important than doing the right thing.
