Its a tactic. It was visible. They had to do something. So they did the minimum to hide the rest. It is how they always sweet issues under the rug with celebs, athletes etc.

Why not just charge him with something like failure to remain in control of the vehicle then? It wouldn't have even been noticed by MSM. Why charge him with something that got everyones attention? It just doesn't make sense on any level.
