No argument there. But they also make wonderful semi pistols. I don't hesitate to recomend the M&P 9 to anyone.
Funny you mention that, I didn't mention their polymer guns because I've never been crazy about the triggers on their M&P polymer pistols. They're excellent pistols (reliable, accurate, etc) but they've never quite been right for me.
Now that being said, they make an excellent 1911. I've had a scandium frame 1911 from S&W for many years and it's wonderfully light and an excellent shooter. I probably should try some of their polymer framed guns again as I've heard that they have improved the triggers.
