Audit all government workers and their immediate families.
That's the ONLY reason I'd say yeah ok, sure, hire 87k IRS agents as long as their only purview is congress.
As a federal employee, you are free to audit me. I certainly do not make the kind of money these folks make and the standard deduction is my friend. I can say after 20 years of government service, the only thing I have to show for it is three super lame lapel pins, my paid off mortgage (this year), a near zero credit card, two 2012 paid off vehicles, and a 2005 motorcycle. I can honestly say that my bank account has never had over 50k in it. Although I am saving up to reach that point and hopefully higher, but it is definitely going to take a while. None of my fellow coworkers are swimming in money either. Although I am very disciplined with my money, I still don't have millions in the bank. There is no honest way that any federal employee can attain that much money and should trigger an exhaustive audit and investigation.
Congratulations on your mortgage. "... There is no honest way..." Therein lies the critical distinction.
It only took 17 years of extra payments😁
Then your home must be extra blessed. 17... Good number.
Preach it brother, I’m right with you.
