There were many cases of cannibalism in ww2. Some Germans when they were surrounded by the Russians and starved, those caught were executed by the officers. Japanese were prolific with it in Nanking. Also there were cannibal tribes we worked with against the Japanese. The one as depicted in this film I do not recall hearing. If I didn't know of the others, I'd call it fabricated BS to make a deepstater into a "war hero" like McStain. I still call it sus though.
As far as I was aware. Most of the tribes we worked with had officially dropped the practice. But still kept and maintained the reputation because it intimidated other tribes.
Granted that is just the official story. Lord knows what was brushed under the rug.
It wasn’t unheard of for Imperial Japanese Troops particularly Officers to engage in Cannibalism. Particularly in remoter areas where supplies were scarce as the war drug on. Though there was a disturbing amount of cases where they weren’t cut off from supplies. Or even starving. They just felt like it.
In a few alleged cases enlisted Japanese soldiers were killed for refusing to eat human meat and in turn were consumed.
There are also other reports of Imperial Japanese Troops engaging in Cannibalism on mainland Asia. With one notable incident involving them killing and eating Indian POWs.
There were quite a few other cases in the pacific theater. Usually involving native tribes/groups and or Japanese Troops.
In this case the video title mostly seems like sensationalist title to drive clicks.

The cannibalism and Bush Sr. experience isn't related to him, so why did this Youtuber do that? Sensationalism is all I can figure.
I can a surgical nurse did share that the natives there practiced cannibalism.
My grandfather, who served in the Pacific said the Japanese servicemen were possessed. Literally.
