According to the late Dr Zelanko, if people would just take zinc and a zinc ionophore (quercetin, Hydroxychloroquine, etc) that allows the zinc to cross the cell membrane, it would be effective against ANY. virus! The zinc stops viral replication within the cell. I take 50 mg of zinc and quercetin every day with my vitamins.
I take my quercetin in the form of red onions, apples, blueberries, tomatoes, and broccoli and get plenty of zinc from ground beef and other meats and roasted pumpkin seeds.
Simple rule of thumb for quercetin from natural foods - Colorful fruits and vegetables and leafy greens (darker the better) usually provide plenty of it.
It really depends on how much you're shooting for and how much meat you eat, but it's very possible.
Zelenko protocol is 50 mg/day for low risk patients, but it's not like you even need that much for optimum health.
1 lb. of ground beef gives you ~32-40 mg of zinc alone (higher end of the spectrum if it's organic grassfed), and this zinc is much more bio-available than a supplement.
The US Recommended Daily allowance is 12 mg for an adult male. The RDA is a bunch of crap but 25 mg is more than enough for most people.
Also, you can always pop a zinc lozenge if you get a cold and you're worried you're deficient.

It is impossible to eat enough to get the correct amount of zinc.

50 mg/ day without copper?
FUUUUUUUCK NO!
That is WAY too much. No wonder he is dead and had gray hair in his beard. Look up the symptoms of copper deficiency.
